Chicken

For all concerned about human nutrition, land stewardship, best agricultural practices, and animal welfare: below is a detailed description of how we raise our chickens. We aim to be open and transparent about how we raise our animals, work as hard as we can to improve the land, and improve the quality of life for our community.

You"ll find that all our animals never get antibiotics, GMO's or chemicals. You WILL find that our animals get frequently rotated on our pasture. This rotation is key to their diet and our land remaining healthy, vibrant, and able to produce a high-quality protein with amazing flavor for customers.

Our birds come in the mail as day-old chicks and spend the last 2/3 or more of their life rotating to fresh grass daily.

Grass Fed Sheep

Our sheep are playing an important role here on our 3-acre property by grazing the grass down for our chickens to be able to also be on pasture. They also get rotated through our more wooded areas to assist us in making these areas more productive and visually appealing. In our plan to regenerate soil health, improve water retention, & produce increasing higher quality forages, our animals are rotating to a new grazing paddock daily. Our Katahdin sheep are a maternal breed with improved parasite resistance, and will consistently twin lambs in the Spring. They are also a shedding hair breed that doesn't require shearing.

We plan on having our first group of lambs in Spring 2022!
